Dear friends,

There are commitments that change a life. Not necessarily their own, but that of a child who, without it, would not have the same chances. Today, we are delighted to announce an important milestone for Maïa Academy: the official launch of our sponsorship program and the arrival of our very first sponsors. This program did not arise from an abstract idea. It was born from what we see every day in the school: brilliant, willing, determined students, but weakened by situations that the school alone cannot resolve. Children who arrive with empty stomachs. Children who do not have access to healthcare. Children who enter unstable homes, without educational support or sufficient emotional framework. For these 45 children identified as the most vulnerable, we have envisioned a different kind of support. More comprehensive. More human. And it’s thanks to you that this becomes possible.

A promise kept : the story of Adin and Carmen

Each sponsor has a story. The story of Adin and Carmen begins a long time ago, on a street in Colombia.

« A child was working in the street. We watched him go by. That day, we said to ourselves: one day, when we can, we will do something. »

For Adin, this commitment has deep roots. Arriving in France after the war in Bosnia, he himself was supported by the solidarity of strangers. This debt to life, he has never stopped wanting to repay it. Carmen, on the other hand, grew up in stability, and it is precisely this awareness of her fortune that led her to commitment. Together, they waited for the right moment. The right place. By discovering the Maïa Baudelaire Foundation, they found each other. A small-scale school, daily support, and an impact that can be seen, measured, and felt. Already donors, they naturally took a step further — and became the first sponsors of the academy. Today, they are also its first ambassadors.

What sponsorship concretely changes

The sponsorship program is based on a simple principle: a collective commitment to a group of priority children. It’s not the exclusive bond of one adult to one child — it’s something stronger, more enduring: a community of sponsors coming together to provide 45 students with what they truly need.

Here is what your sponsorship directly funds :

▸ A continuous and secure education at Maïa Academy
▸ This includes uniforms, notebooks, sportswear, and all the necessary materials for the smooth running of their education
▸ Two balanced meals per day
▸ Access to medical care and regular health monitoring
▸ Social and psychological support, provided by our teams

We designed this program to stay true to the spirit of the Foundation: accessible, transparent, and deeply rooted in the reality on the ground.
